"Je vais pouvoir, j'espère, te confier toutes sortes de choses, comme je n'ai encore pu le faire à personne, et j'espère que tu me seras d'un grand soutien." En 1942, la jeune Anne Frank a 13 ans. Elle vit heureuse à Amsterdam avec sa soeur Margot et ses parents, malgré la guerre. En juillet, ils s'installent clandestinement dans "l'Annexe" de l'immeuble du 263, Prinsenchracht. En 1944, ils sont arrêtés sur dénonciation.
Anne est déportée à Auschwitz, puis à Bergen-Belsen, où elle meurt du typhus au début de 1945, peu après sa soeur. Son journal, qu'elle a tenu du 12 juin 1942 au 1er août 1944, est un des témoignages les plus bouleversants qui nous soient parvenus sur la vie quotidienne d'une famille juive sous le joug nazi. Depuis la première publication de ce journal aux Pays-Bas en 1947, la voix de cette jeune fille pleine d'espoir hante des millions de lecteurs dans le monde entier.

Cuando era un joven cirujano plástico, recuerdo bien cómo el interior de la cara parecía un territorio misterioso y peligroso donde todo lucía igual y solo la obediencia al ritual empírico del lifting facial me permitía sentirme seguro. Con el tiempo, los cambios cada vez más sutiles de la anatomía se convirtieron en buenos compañeros para la cirugía. Más adelante, comencé a entender cómo la anatomía contribuía tanto a la apariencia de la cara como a la manera en que esa comprensión podría ser una herramienta para entender la cara envejecida y mejorar las formas para rehabilitarla. Al principio uno está feliz de que un área se pueda llenar.
